Please read this document carefully as it sets out everything you will need to know about the terms and conditions for participating in the my energy live employee trial (the Trial).
These terms and conditions apply in addition to all of our other terms and conditions, including but not limited to our standard terms and conditions for the supply of electricity and gas (www.britishgas.co.uk/termsandconditions), our terms and conditions for installation of smart meters (http://www.britishgas.co.uk/smartinstall) and our paperless billing rules (https://www.britishgas.co.uk/content/dam/british-gas/documents/oam/paperless-billing-rules-british-gas.pdf). Where there is a conflict between any terms and conditions, the energy supply terms and conditions will take precedence followed by the terms and conditions for the Trial.

The following terms apply.
1. To be eligible for the my energy live app (the App) and participate in the Trial, you must:
2. You further agree that you are happy for us to collect consumption data from your smart electricity meter every 10 seconds and smart gas meter every 30 minutes. This is required to operate the App and to enable us to offer you more tailored products and services that will help you manage your energy use.

4. We reserve the right at our sole discretion to refuse any participant from taking part in the Trial.
5. You agree that any combination of products forming part of the my energy live products (the Products) and any support provided in relation to the Trial shall be at our sole discretion.
6. The Products will be self-installed by you and we will connect them to your smart meters remotely if we can. We will let you know when we have done this, or if it is necessary for us to send an engineer to your home to install the products. If we have to send out an engineer, you accept that your in home display may not work until installed by the engineer.
7. Once the Products are installed and paired with your home WiFi, they will send data for the App to display. There may be some instances where the App may not work, usually due to connection issues. If the App is not available you will need to use your in home display to view your energy consumption data.
8. By choosing to install and use the App, you accept that the Products you will receive are prototypes and acknowledge that this is a Trial with a limited roll out and there may be occasions when full functionality may not be available. Should the Products develop a fault, please contact us at myenergylive@britishgas.co.uk for technical support and we, or our agents, will attempt to repair the fault or replace the Products as soon as possible.
9. For the duration of the Trial, you agree to follow any instructions we give you concerning the operation of the Products. If at any point you have any questions about the Trial or installation of the Products, please contact us at myenergylive@britishgas.co.uk.
10. It is important that we learn as much as possible from this Trial to ensure we can improve customer experience. Therefore, you agree to provide feedback setting out details of any positive / negative elements of your general user experience including the reliability and performance of the Products. We will contact you during the Trial to gather this feedback and ask for your experience / views. This may involve feedback forms, verbal communication, and focus groups.
11. Due to the commercially sensitive nature of any trial, we ask that you do not give any details about the Trial or your participation in the Trial to any third party without speaking to us first. You also agree not to make any public statement relating to the Trial without our consent.
12. The Products shall remain our property and you shall not remove, reclaim, sell or otherwise dispose of all or any part of them. You may not decompile, reverse-engineer, disassemble or otherwise tamper with the Products or App.
13. The Trial will start on the date of activation of the Products (the Activation Date) and shall end at any time within the 12 month period following the Activation Date. We will give you prior written notice of the Trial end date, including new support arrangements and service conditions which will apply after the Trial ends. The Products belong to us (or our agents).
14. The Trial is subject to withdrawal or variation at any time. Where the Trial is to be withdrawn, we will always try to give you prior written notice of the withdrawal and any reasons for the withdrawal.
15. If you change your mind, you can withdraw from the Trial by emailing myenergylive@britishgas.co.uk at any time. If you withdraw from the Trial, we can request that you return the Products to us at your own expense.
16. We will not accept any financial liability as a result of your use of the Products or the App, including any increase in your electricity consumption or data usage charges. We recommend the use of home Internet connections with unlimited data allowances to avoid unexpected data usage charges.
17. We use data encryption when transmitting messages between your smart meters, the App, the smart energy monitor and our servers. However, we cannot be held liable for any interception by a third party.
18. You accept that you are responsible for protecting your smartphone and computer hardware, software and data from unauthorised access, viruses, spyware and all other types of malicious code. It is also your responsibility to keep your App login and password safe.
19. If you change employer, change energy supplier or sell or move from your property, you will no longer be eligible to participate in the Trial, and you must inform us of such a change by contacting us at myenergylive@britishgas.co.uk.
20. The App is optimised to use WiFi or mobile data similar to apps such as Facebook. If WiFi is available, use it to access the App to save your mobile data. If you're abroad, remember to access the App only when connected to WiFi to avoid high international data charges.
21. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
